Namitha Mathews shares her views with NDTV Profit
We are pleased to share that our Partner, Namitha Mathews, recently joined NDTV Profit’s ‘Your Money Matters’, in conversation with Mahima Vachhrajani, to discuss the rights and responsibilities of tenants and what individuals should keep in mind before signing a rental or lease agreement.
Namitha outlined key considerations relating to lease terms, rent and escalation clauses, security deposits and refunds, maintenance and additional charges, termination provisions, and normal wear and tear. She also emphasised measures tenants can take to safeguard their interests, including negotiating and documenting key terms at the outset, conducting a joint inspection and recording the condition of the property when vacating, and ensuring that, where brokers are involved, their authority, charges and material representations are clearly recorded in the agreement.
