Argus Partners Advises Kirana Club on its Acquisition by Meesho
Argus Partners is pleased to announce that it has advised Kirana Club Pte. Ltd. (“Kirana Club”), its founders, Mr. Anshul Gupta and Ms. Aishwarya Jain and its shareholders, with respect to the 100% acquisition of Kirana Club (and its Indian subsidiary, Retail Pulse Labs Private Limited) by Meesho Limited (“Meesho”) for INR 202 crores.
Founded in 2020, Kirana Club is a B2B e-commerce marketplace which helps kirana stores primarily across tier-2, tier-3, and tier-4 towns and rural markets, to source FMCG and grocery products directly from brands. Kirana Club has built a network of more than 4.1 million registered retailers, and the acquisition gives Meesho a presence in the kirana-focused B2B commerce segment at a time when small retailers continue to account for the majority of India’s grocery trade.
The deal team at Argus Partners consisted of Anindya Ghosh (Partner), Anantha Iyer (Partner), Aradhana Pandit (Associate) and Shreya Jain (Associate).
