Krishnava Dutt shares his views with NDTV Profit
We are pleased to share that our Managing Partner, Krishnava Dutt, recently joined NDTV Profit’s The Big Question, in conversation with Vikram Oza, to discuss the debate around soaring airfares, dynamic pricing and the extent to which airline fares should be regulated.
Krishnava shared his perspective on the regulatory framework governing airline pricing and the balance that needs to be maintained between market-driven pricing and consumer protection. He discussed the legal and policy considerations involved in regulating fares, including the scope for government intervention, the need for safeguards against excessive pricing, and the importance of ensuring that any regulatory response does not undermine the commercial and competitive dynamics of the aviation sector.
The discussion comes against the backdrop of the Supreme Court calling for action against airlines that violate existing fare-related requirements and the Government considering a broader framework addressing issues including airfares, surge pricing, baggage charges, cancellations and refunds.
