The Legal 500 GC Summit India 2025
We are pleased to share that our Partner, Abhinav Bhalaik, recently moderated a panel discussion at The Legal 500 GC Summit India 2025 on April 24, in Mumbai, on the topic “The Evolving Role of General Counsel in Strategic Deal Making.”
Abhinav led an engaging discussion on the expanding role of General Counsel in strategic transactions. The panel began with reflections on how this role has evolved, especially from an internal counsel’s perspective, and featured insights from leaders across green mobility, infrastructure, and logistics. Key challenges such as ESG and reputational risk, regulatory hurdles, and internal risk assessment were addressed, along with a forward-looking exchange on global trends and their impact on the evolving expectations of GCs.
Joining Abhinav on the panel were distinguished leaders from the legal and business community: Prateek Shroff (Senior Vice President, Brookfield Asset Management), Anooshree Chakravorty Sinha (Executive Director and General Counsel, Eversource Capital), and Aparna Chablani (Vice President, General Counsel & Governance, DP World Subcontinent).
