Ankur Arora Partner

Ankur is a Partner at Argus Partners and brings over a decade of experience advising on infrastructure projects, complex M&A, and transactions in the energy & infrastructure sector.

He has represented governments, lenders, sponsors, and developers across power, transmission, roads, ports, mining, nuclear, and real estate, advising on bid processes, project development, strategic M&A, and large-scale land acquisitions. His practice also covers regulatory and policy advisory in highly regulated sectors, as well as risk management and pre-dispute strategies in complex transactions and projects.

In the renewables space, Ankur has recently worked with Reliance Industries Limited on several of its strategic initiatives in the new energy sector, including the establishment of gigafactories, development of large-scale renewable energy projects, and one of India’s largest land acquisitions of approximately 6 lakh acres in Gujarat.

Ankur holds a B.Sc. (Hons) LL.B. (Hons) degree from National Law University, Jodhpur.

Select Professional Experience

Advised IFC with Government of Sri Lanka on development of a grid connected, ground mounted solar PV project and wind power project on PPP basis in Sri Lanka.

Advised IFC with Government of Madhya Pradesh in relation to the development of 3 solar power parks of total capacity of 1,500 MW in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India.

Assisted IFC with Government of Madhya Pradesh on development of 750MW ultra mega solar project in the state of Madhya Pradesh.

Advised Alfanar Energy on: Construction, development and operation of 2X300 MW wind power plants in Gujarat, including project documentation and regulatory advisory support; Development of a 1,500 MW solar park in Rajasthan, including land acquisition and related approvals.

Advised Blupine Energy on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating project agreements for developing wind energy projects in different states of the country.

Advised Envision on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements for the supply of wind turbines to various project developers establishing wind power projects across India.

Advised Sterling & Wilson on preparation of standard form subcontracts for supply and erection/commissioning for solar power projects to be set up in the UAE and other international locations.

Advised Sungrow Investment & Holdings Pte Ltd. on the regulatory framework for setting up solar power plants in India.

Advised OMERS on potential investment into Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions Private Limited, an entity holding over 700 MW of wind, solar, wind-solar hybrid and rooftop capacity in Gujarat, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

Advised Vitol Asia Pte Ltd. on the acquisition of an equity interest in AT Holdings Pte Ltd, which holds various solar power projects in India.

Advised Scatec on acquisition of 900 MW solar projects from ACME in Rajasthan.
