Based in Mumbai, Ranjit has almost 20 years of experience in litigation and dispute resolution. He has advised on a wide range of contentious matters relating to commercial matters, government tenders, banking & finance, real estate and challenges to legislations. He has represented clients in various courts and tribunals across India which includes the High Courts of Bombay, Delhi, Goa, Indore and also the Supreme Court of India. He has also advised on multi-jurisdictional litigation cases.
Ranjit’s area of expertise includes advising on pre-litigation strategies, civil and commercial litigation, arbitration (both domestic and international) including enforcement of foreign awards and issues relating to choice of law, choice of jurisdiction and conflict of laws. He has represented in complex cases in various fora.
Ranjit’s vast experience includes representing leading real estate and construction company in arbitration proceedings, representing owners of a mill land on which National Textile Corporation claimed to be a tenant, representing a leading infrastructure company on an income tax matter and representing several other clients on arbitration matters. His experience also involves advising and representing quite a few financial institutions and business organizations on issues arising under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code 2016. He is known to understand the client’s ‘need’.
Ranjit graduated from the Government Law College, Mumbai. He is registered as an Advocate on the rolls of the State Bar Council in the State of Maharashtra and Goa and on the Original Side of the Bombay High Court. Prior to joining Argus Partners, Ranjit headed the dispute resolution practice of Hariani & Co. and Juris Corp.
