Vedasagar has almost four decades of experience in banking & finance as also in the infrastructure space. After graduating from Madras University, Vedasagar joined M/s Aiyar & Dolia in 1977, a reputed law firm in Chennai, handling various criminal litigations and recovery proceedings. Thereafter, Vedasagar joined ICICI as its in-house legal counsel.
At ICICI, Vedasagar spent 25 years and retired as the head of ICICI’s legal department (heading a team of more than 50 legal professionals). His responsibilities included clearance of non-standard documents, looking after legal implications of various business decisions and counseling on all legal aspects of new businesses / initiatives and directly monitoring major litigations.
After retiring from ICICI Bank, Vedasagar joined Amarchand & Mangaldas & Suresh A. Shroff & Co as a Partner. At Amarchand, Vedasagar advised on a vast range of banking & finance transactions including asset reconstructions, consortium lendings, external commercial borrowings, project finance and debt restructurings.
Vedasagar returned to ICICI Bank as a Senior Legal Advisor for a brief while after retiring as a Partner from Amarchand. Thereafter, Vedasagar was a senior advisor to L&T Infrastructure Finance Company Limited. He joined Argus Partners in October 2016.
